IGN INTERVIEW - FEBRUARY 7, 2000
|
February 7, 2000 To legions of Fox viewers Eric Christian Olsen is the older brother Cameron Green, on the hit show Get Real. Beyond that Olsen is a young buck on the come-up in Hollywood. Straight outta his freshman year in college Olsen tossed his bags into an old Chevy and headed westward to follow his cinematic destiny. A serious guest spot on an episode of ER, a quick turn in a cancelled series called High Intensity and Olsen was up and running.
IGN for Men caught up with Eric in Vegas recently, where he was partaking in the Sega Dreamcast Championship. After allowing himself to get pummeled in a round of Crazy Taxi, Olsen sat down to chat about his acting, potential Star Wars involvement, and his Dreamcast fetish. |

Eric Christian Olsen: "My friend Dan and I decided to grill chicken for our homecoming dates. Dan was trying to flip one and it bounced (into) the dirt. Dan said not to worry - we would use the 10 second rule, (if it's not on the ground for more than 10 seconds, it's OK to eat). He served it to his date, and every time she took a bite, I laughed. Dan kept kicking me under the table. We never told her what happened... until now." |
Being Cameron "It's a blast playing Cameron on the show," says Eric Christian Olsen. "He loves women and so do I! He is at that phase in his life where everything is exciting and new and he's into pushing the limit to see how far he can take things and that was definitely me and my brother growing up together playing every sport, rock climbing, jumping off of bridges. We were crazy and insane. I would come home and my mom would give me the same speeches that Debrah Farentino gives me on the show! The first episode of the show I think Cameron was kind of an idiot, but as we've progressed they started to give him all these different levels. You get to see that this is a really interesting guy who cares deeply about his family and shows it through his actions not by his words. I thinks it's an emotionally honest portrayal of a 17 year old boy and I love that about it." |
