According to The Futon Critic, the pilot for Eric's new ABC comedy is supposed to finish filming today. TFC lists the show as 'Threesome', while other sources say the show is still untitled. Eric plays the lead character Shawn, a 30-something caught between his girlfriend - a single mom - and his slacker best friend. Alyssa Milano ('Charmed') and Kyle Bornheimer ('Worst Week') also star.
Overture Films’"Sunshine Cleaning" earned a forecasted $216,000 between four theaters in Los Angeles and New York in its opening weekend, good for an estimated $54,000 per-theater average – the best performance of any limited or wide release thus far in 2009.
The Amy Adams and Emily Blunt-led dark comedy follows a pair of down on their luck sisters who get into the crime scene clean-up business. The numbers put the film amongst some of the most successful specialty titles in recent times.
In addition to greater expansion in the Los Angeles market, which includes Orange County and the New York City market, which includes all five boroughs, the film’s release pattern will grow to 15 markets on Friday, March 20th.
Sunshine Cleaning is playing in select theaters in the US now! The movie is set for a wide release on March 27th according to the official site. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any promotional stills featuring Eric, so his part is probably small. Send me some feedback if you have seen the film! Thank you!
I've uploaded a new photoshoot. Also, Sunshine Cleaning will be released on Friday. Unfortunately, Eric did not attend the premiere on Monday so no pics. :(
• According to the Hollywood Reporter, Eric's new ABC comedy is still untitled, and Alyssa Milano has joined the cast. Plot: A guy in his 30s is torn between his needy best friend and the newfound love of his life and her teen kids.
• Eric and Nick talk about Fired Up and more with Mario Lopez. Go to ExtraTV.com, and search for a video titled 'Mantourage is Fired Up!' Thanks to Jeane for the heads up!
• Eric mentions on his MySpace that The Six Wives of Henry Lefay will be released in May.
In the latest round of pilot castings, Eric Christian Olsen has been tapped as the lead in ABC's untitled Ricky Blitt comedy pilot, Taylor Schilling has landed the lead in NBC's drama pilot "Mercy," and 9-year-old Dakota Goyo has been cast as the young lead on ABC's untitled Daniel Cerone drama pilot.
The untitled Ricky Blitt comedy, from WBTV, centers on a guy in his thirties (Olsen) who hasn't quite grown up and finds himself torn between his needy best friend and the newfound love of his life and her teen kids. Olsen ("Brothers & Sisters") is repped by UTA.
Fired Up didn't do very well this weekend at the box office. It grossed about $5.5 million and entered the chart at #9. Keep in mind the movie only played in 1810 theaters across the country, which is considerably lower theater count compared to the other releases. Fired Up actually had a higher per theater average gross than He's Just Not That Into You, Friday the 13th, Mall Cop and Shopaholic.
Onto other news.. Eric is working on a new shop for ABC called "Threesome." Kristin at E! Online reports:
Nancy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Eric Christian Olsen is so great on Brothers & Sisters. Any chance he'll be staying around? Eric Christian Olsen has two more episodes left of B&S, but then he'll be starting a new show for ABC called Threesome, written by Ricky Blitt (Family Guy). Olsen says the show is not as dirty as its name makes it sound: "It's a really funny comedy. It's about these two roommates and the girl that I fell in love with." Anything that keeps Eric on ABC is fine by me.
